The Dayco NO SLACK® automatic belt tensioner features a flat spring design to provide less operating range vibrations. With this benefit, it helps reduce the risk of bearing failure due to high tension when a new belt is installed and comes with other special features including: Thermoplastic rubber spring slot plug (where applicable) helps keep out harmful contaminants; a rubber “O” ring which seals against dust and grime (where applicable); and Zinc-coated mounting bolt that resists rust (where applicable).
Dayco NO SLACK® automatic belt tensioners are specifically built to outperform and outlast competitive OE parts. The heavy duty cast aluminum spring case resists cracking and fatigue. Each component is built to resist rust, endure the toughest of conditions while promoting quieter performance and longer life. Additionally, they are manufactured with a specially coated patented flat wire spring to allow the internal tension to be concentric, thus providing a more even degree of constant tension; Contain a metallic locator pin built to withstand extreme drive demands and properly locate the tensioner for installation; and offer a patented Deflected Arm Plate that dampens arm movement, prolonging the life of the tensioner by limiting the amount of rotational movement.
