BorgWarner bi-metal viscous fan clutches are designed to provide variable fan drive options to applications that either have a fixed fan or do not have compressed air and/or electronic controls available. These revolutionary fan clutches use heat-sensing bi-metal actuators to engage the cooling fan according to demand. The actuator senses the temperature behind the heat exchangers while silicone gel in the working chamber controls the fan speed depending on cooling needs. As the heat exchanger temp goes down, the fluid valve closes, disengaging the fan.
We carry several models of BorgWarner bi-metal viscous fan clutches depending on your truck or fleet’s unique needs:
750 SERIES FAN CLUTCHES
For fan/vehicle combinations that require a lower torque capacity, the 750 series fan drive is the perfect solution.
795 SERIES FAN CLUTCHES
The BorgWarner 795 series fan clutch is a popular choice for vehicles that need the next level up in terms of torque capacity and size.
805 SERIES FAN CLUTCHES
The strongest torque capacity and largest in size for heavy-duty applications.
More options mean the best fit for you and your truck or fleet. Borgwarner clutches offer clockwise, counterclockwise, remote pulley and crankshaft mounting.
SELF-CONTAINED, MAINTENANCE-FREE SOLUTIONS
BorgWarner fan clutches have softer engagement, leading to extended service life of the belt and accessories. Vehicle/fan combinations can also be fiexible due to height, cost, performance, and durability preferences.
Kysor On/Off Fan Clutches
BorgWarner’s celebrated line of Kysor On/Off fan drives are proven and robust with the most durable bearing package and base design for commercial vehicle line haul duty cycle. With 20% fewer parts than the competition, Kysor On/Off clutches from BorgWarner turn on when you need them and turn off when you don’t so you can focus on the journey ahead.
KYSOR ON/OFF CLUTCHES OFFER:
A perfect fit on most applications
Reduced service time, with liners taking only 10-20 minutes to replace
Ease of service
Higher torque capacity
Hub bearing liability and reduced wear
We offer multiple BorgWarner Kysor On/Off options for your trucking needs including:
K30 and K32 models that can handle bigger fans and faster speeds
K26 front air models that do not require a BorgWarner hub for installation
K26 rear air models. The K26 models are the second generation in Kysor On/Off clutches, featuring gold housing and higher torque capacity than previous generations.
K22 rear air assemblies. The K22 generation from BorgWarner has silver housing and is the first generation of Kysor On/Off clutches.
Durospeed 2-Speed Fan Drives
BorgWarner DuroSpeed fan drives offer 2 speeds to ensure proper engine cooling while also keeping your truck fuel-efficient and quiet on the road. DuroSpeed fan drives offer multiple benefits over traditional 2-speed fan clutches including:
An average 70 degree cooler running temperature, leading to extended bearing and liner life
An innovative flux ring design that dissipates heat 27% better than the competition
No spinning air fittings to wear out
Using the flux ring assembly kit, converting On/Off clutches to DuroSpeed is fast and inexpensive
11 fewer components than the competition and clutches that are 5-10 pounds lighter
Innovative coreless design
The superior performance of BorgWarner DuroSpeed fan clutches reduces overall operating noise and also minimizes radiator clogging. The fan thrust also adds to the torque capacity instead of reducing it.
