Early signs of failing spring brake chambers often go unnoticed without visual inspection. When performing routine maintenance on your semi-truck or other commercial vehicle, you may want to check to see if the brake chamber rod is bent; isn't fully retracting or chamber and slack adjusters are out of adjustment. It could be time for a replacement. After all, brake chambers should be replaced every two-five years.

This C30 S-cam brake (drum) is designed for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. C models feature a formed steel pressure cap (epoxy-coated) and formed steel non-pressure chamber (epoxy-coated). It also features heavy-duty nylon diaphragms. Its top and side air ports measure 3/8-18 inches NPTF and it contains the added benefit of a center hole shield (except Type 12 and 16). This standard stroke C model s-cam brake chamber contains a 2.5 inch stroke; a 5/8-11 inch mounting bolt thread and a 1.55 mounting bolt length. Service size is 30. Its "A" measurement is 4.43 inches; "B" measurement is 3.69 inches; "C" measurement is 8.27 inches and "D" measurement is 4.75 inches. Its "E" measurement is 5/8-11 UNC; "F" measurement is 5/8- 18 UNF. Inlets measure at 3/8 inches - 18 NPTF and X-min measures 8 inches.
