Spring brakes and their subsequent parts are generally reserved for the rear axle of the vehicle. Each spring brake is built with two different chambers with two different purposes. The service chamber, like any other brake chamber, is used to push the compressed air through the brake system to apply enough force to stop the brakes. However, spring brakes also contain a piggyback chamber that applies the emergency/parking brakes. This Maxibrake spring brake is commonly used on Lucas girling systems. The maxibrake H-series hydraulic spring set parking brake release mechanisms are housed inside the unit making them readily available for use. This Haldex spring brake contains all steel housing for added strength and durability against corrosion; an alluminum piston and nylon bearings. Its springs are made from steel alloy to protect against further rust and corrosion, as well. It features deep spring cavities and optional spring force to extend the service life of the product plus a stamped steel piston with 360 degree HD plastic bushing and o-ring seal. Fluid inlet is included. Piston rod is made from chrome. Its max hydraulic pressure is 125 PSI.
