The best shocks are meant to last a long time. You'd love to have shocks put in and confidently know that your suspension will be in good shape for years to come. The only true way to guarantee that peace of mind is with a good warranty.

High-performance shocks are definitely valuable, but not having to purchase shocks for the lifetime of your truck can save you a decent chunk of change over time. But a lifetime warranty?! Sounds like it could be too good to be true. Let's dig into the nitty-gritty and find out.

Enter: Monroe's Limited Lifetime Warranty on Shock Absorbers

Monroe has been a staple in the automotive and trucking business for the past century, so it's very safe to say that the guys at Monroe and Tenneco know a little bit about shock absorbers. But most other heavy-duty shock providers have very defined mile and year limits on their warranties, so how does Monroe do it? And how limited is "limited"? Here's the fine print.

What Products Does The Warranty Cover?

Monroe's lifetime warranty on shocks covers defects and wear-out for certain series of Monroe shock absorbers on certain applications. Here is the list of products they cover:

  • Monroe OESpectrum Shocks
  • Monroe Reflex Shocks and Struts
  • Monroe Quick-Strut replacement assemblies
  • Monroe Gas-Magnum Shocks

It should be noted that the Magnum shocks that aren't gas-powered come with a 2-year warranty, but the heavy-duty Gas-Magnum shocks (that are higher quality) do come with the limited lifetime warranty.

Does The Warranty Cover Everything?

As long as the right shocks are on the same vehicle they were installed on, they're covered for life for any wear and tear or defect. Whenever the failure occurs, Monroe will cover the entire replacement process from the shock absorber except for any associated labor costs.

However, note that it doesn't apply to products that have been modified or improperly installed, so when installing Monroe shocks, we recommend you get it done by a professional technician if you're not one already.

Is It As Good As It Looks?

Heck yeah it is. Great parts get long warranties, and our goal is to get you some great parts. So while the warranty doesn't cover all of Monroe's shocks, it covers the high-quality ones like the Gas-Magnum series, which gives you better performance as well as the lifetime warranty.

In this case, we're happy to say the date matched the pictures. Shop with peace of mind for Monroe shocks here.
