Early signs of failing spring brake chambers often go unnoticed without visual inspection. When performing routine maintenance on your semi-truck or other commercial vehicle, you may want to check to see if the brake chamber rod is bent; isn't fully retracting or chamber and slack adjusters are out of adjustment. It could be time for a replacement. After all, brake chambers should be replaced every two-five years.
This MJS3024ET s-cam brake chamber is designed for piston, parking brakes. This MJS 3 inch model features a tamper-resistant design and a 3 inch long stroke. Its compact size and new patented integral release bolt mechanism makes it desirable for commercial vehicles. It contains a minimum bolt protrusion (1.25 inches on long stroke models when manually released); a non-coil clash power spring; corrosion-resistant steel head - epoxy-coated and is available with 1749-2450 pounds of push rod braking force at 1.25 inch stroke/service brake sizes 17-36. This aftermarket unit with welded yoke features a 3 inch long stroke; port sizes of 3/8-18 inches; a 5/8-11 mounting bolt thread and a 1.54 inch mounting bolt length. Service size is 30 and spring size is 24. It's "A" measurement is 10.33 inch; "B" measurement is 7.94 inches; "C" measurement is 8.32 inches; "D" measurement is 6.76 inches; "E" measurement is 4.75 inches; "F" measurement is 5/8-11 UNC; "G" measurement is 5/8-18 UNF and inlets are 3/8 - 18 NPTF. Y measures 2.25 inches.
