Autocar Cab Latches
Autocar hydraulic latches securely hold covers and cabs for safe travel and are ideal for new and existing fire and rescue applications. These hydraulic cab latches are compact in size and strength and have the versatile mounting capability to easily meet single or multiple latch needs.
The unique, patented cab latch designs from Autocar include a latch indicator with options such as a light or transmission lock that indicates when the latch has engaged or released. Autocar hydraulic cab latches also feature pin reactions that indicate the latch has engaged mechanically, and the extension of the pin indicates the latch has disengaged hydraulically.

INDUSTRY PIONEERS
The history of Autocar began in 1897 when Louis Semple Clarke built a tricycle powered by a one-cylinder gasoline engine called Autocar No. 1, which is now in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Later that year, Clarke began the Pittsburgh Motor Vehicle Company with support from his two brothers, father, and a friend, William Morgan.
After the completion of Autocar No. 2, a four-wheeled runabout car they called The Pittsburgher, was built in 1898 and is now in the Henry Ford Museum. In 1899, the company was moved to Ardmore, Pennsylvania and renamed the Autocar Company. Although Clarke and his partners knew they were at the start of something important, even they couldn't have known how they would shape all modern American cars and trucks. Autocar still thrives today and, over a century later, is proud to be the oldest surviving vehicle nameplate in the country.
