Early signs of failing spring brake chambers often go unnoticed without visual inspection. When performing routine maintenance on your semi-truck or other commercial vehicle, you may want to check to see if the brake chamber rod is bent; isn't fully retracting or chamber and slack adjusters are out of adjustment. It could be time for a replacement. After all, brake chambers should be replaced every two-five years.

This C16 S-cam brake (drum) is designed for heavy-duty commercial vehicles. C models feature a formed steel pressure cap (epoxy-coated) and formed steel-nonpressure chamber (epoxy-coated). It also features heavy-duty nylon diaphragms. Its top and side air ports measure 3/8-18 inches NPTF and it contains the added benefit of a center hole shield (except Type 12 and 16). This C model s-cam brake contains a 2.25 inch stroke and a 7/16-14 inch mounting bolt thread. Service size is 16.
